    LAH Cyphers

    Greetings gents,
A friend of mine has sent me a pair of slip-ons for authentication.
    The two are slightly different.
I've compared them to some originals I found posted by Gary. While they are not a match, I'm not yet convinced they're bad.
This is not my area of expertise, so I'd very much appreciate your comments and opinions.
    Thank you!
    Roy

Interesting cyphers, the embroidery is sloppy & heavy and they do share characteristics of originals. At best late war but dubious IMO

I just am not comfortable with these. Maybe late war, but not my thing. When they are right you just know.

                Roy,

I do not like these, I would pass on them. Poor quality in the stitching and on the back side, the stitching does not compare with the known originals. The fakers are getting better and better, but they still lack certain details, which, I do not want to disclose what they are, that stand out from the originals. Hope this helps. Grant.

Thanks very kindly for the feedback guys. Regarding the fakers getting better and better, it may be important to note that the slip-ons in question were acquired by my friend in the early to mid 80's, so he's had them for 20+ years. I think this may have bearing on the discussion as I have the impression that such quality in fakes did not exist at that time.
To draw an analogy, weren't Bevo titles first reproduced in the late 80's?
                  Food for thought perhaps.
At any rate, I appreciate the feedback...please keep the comments coming
