      wolfsangel

This emblem was also used by "Karl Wolff" as his Family Crest, it can be seen on the Pommel cap of his Birthday sword and on some of his personal stationary and probably on some of his other personal items as well.

Various pro-Nazi groups used it.....not just the Dutch. It was regarded by them all as a symbol of liberty and independence, and as a badge of 'voelkisch resistance' to outsiders, if that makes sense.

Very interesting and educational thread Robin.

Here is a stick pin from my collection.

              Cheers, Ade.

                  That's nice Ade.

Goebbels wore one of these on his tie during the early days.......you can occasionally see it in photos of him.

Yours is the German type.......the Dutch type had 'triangular' arm ends usually, although the German-made Dutch SS collar tab showed the German type hook.

                    Jim,

Can you show his family crest or anything else in relation to this statement?

The sword with wolfsangel pommel is shown in Tom Wittmann's SS edged weapons book.
