Hi Polux,
Those are some fantastic photos. Are they personal or press photos and do have more to show?
I have a nice collection of personal and press photos showing Foreign volunteers wearing national shields. I will post them one these times!
Hello
I believe that the double ranks on cossacks' cuffs (see last photo) would imply that they belong to the personal guard of Gen.Lt. von Pannwitz.
Nice photos. Thanks for sharing. For those who would like to see more photos of cossacks units, I suggest to read a book published by Heimdal (French company) which is bilingual (both English and French) and entitled (hope my memory serves me) "Pannwitz's cossacks".

Denis
Hi Polux,
Those are some nice and interesting photos. What is the ECPA and have they publish a photo book showing all these pictures of foreign volunteers?
Hello
ECPA is Etablissement Photographique des Armées (don't know what the C means) which is translated into Army Photographic Office. They don't publish a catalog (it would be too easier). Their photo are just stored base upon the thema (e.g. WWII German) and they have several hundreds of binder filled of photo.
Everybody can have access to them but you must pay them a visit and consult each binder on the spot (Fort d'Aubervilliers, located at the suburb of Paris).
Regards
Denis
Denis, it is effectively about the personal guard of von Pannwitz. The Oberleutnant Bojtschewsky was the commander of the 1-st squadron of the guard, official naming 1. Wach-Schwadron 1. Kos. Division. The people incorporated into this unity wore a gold-coloured chevron on the bottom of every sleeve of their uniform. He also wore on the height of the right sleeve the badge of XV KKK.
Except the book of the editions Heimdal, I advise greatly the reading the magnificent Schuster's work and Tiede " Die Uniformen und Abzeichen der Kosaken in der Deutschen Wehrmacht ". In my opinion, the best realized work on the subject.
C of ECPA corresponds to Cinématographique, is Etablissement Cinématographique et Photographique des Armées.
René, as indicated it Denis any catalog exist. The various series of photos are classified without any particular order, this does not facilitate the research. Nevertheless, the various files containing the photos were divided into categories :
DAT for WH with 142 files
DAA for LW with 90 files
DAM for KM with 50 files
DAK for Afrikakorps with 11 files
DAZ for ZBV with 2 files
I am not returned to the ECPA for two years. Changes were able to be brought.
