A friend of mine has offered this item to me. I have be throw all my books on the subject, and compared it with a for sure 100% original sidecap and as you can imagine they are not a like


The fabric is somewhat smoother than others I have seen and touch. It is not responding to UV light in any way, nor does the inside.<O</O

Anyway I would like the group opinion, and please no “armchair shoots”, it would be nice with a reason for the opinion, - thanks in advance.<O</O

My first impression of the interior was "BAD SS-BW STAMP"... then when I saw the insignia and the shape of the outside, it was confirmed... BAD! Sorry. Give it back to your friend and tell him you cannot afford it.

I am sorry for being late, but yes the stamp is the first giveaway then the nap of the wool is wrong for a 70 year old cap. It looks exactly like the same wool of which my re-enactor hat is made. Fresh and green. I also do not like the lining material.

Yes as I mentioned to ”smooth” to be the real one. But they (the fakers) are really good some time, - I have a M40 (WH) which only give away, - are bad eagle and so on. Unfortunately I do not have pictures of it on my server (yet) so I cannot show it. Do to my “new member” status, which puzzles me, - I must have been “boot strapped” at some point. But thanks again for your opinion.<O</O
