Definitely original eagle but what is this bird sewn to ... a cap? Wondering about the seam.

The odd placement of the seam threw me too on the piece so I wanted to check the bird. I am not sure if its hat or sleeve at this point. Hope t have it "in hand" later in the week.

Actually its been somewhat pleasant here lately, winter is coming to be sure, but its just been pleasantly cool. We've been sampling the various Oktoberfests here lately, and while Leinie's version is good, I think the Spatten Oktoberfest has won me over. But we are still holding full-scale research tests

looks like cap eagle size for sure but what the heck kind of cap?

Jerry, I'm certain that the eagle is a sleeve eagle. They are a bit smaller then the Heer birds and this is too large for a cap eagle IMO. Still the cloth it's sewn to has me puzzled. If that was a hat, what kind is black HBT material?
