Remember too that the Canadians fought the 12th and 17th SS almost exclusively in Normandy, so i can imagine that this cufftitle was most likely from a cadre assigned to the 12th from its parent regiment, the LAH...

You can almost be assured that if you find SS Insignia in Canada from a vet, it will be from a 12th SS member from Normandy, or LSSAH from Italy
