      Francesco,

Very nice original SS wrap. They must be giving them away now since we have seen so many lately on the forum. Just kidding...I know they cost at leave $500.00 USD. I have seen that manufacturer several times in wraps and there is another numbered manufacturer #525 I think. I'm pretty sure they have all been SS wraps either black or field gray.

That is also a lining most common to black SS wraps, a woven cotton, almost like a linen. I don't believe I've seen that material in wraps from other branches, but I'm sure it's possible. Maybe some members have this lining in Heer, Luft., or Police wraps?

Here is a photo that reminded me of yours with the #5's on the boards obviously from Wiking too. It is from the book Soldat volume #6 by Mundt and Lee. Enjoy your wrap and thanks for sharing!

Dream of a piece, if I could find one of those, I'd be done collecting and hang it up! BNZ, you mentioned the 627 is associated with a KZ manufacturer, do you know which one, and where does this info come from? I have an SS Stug field grey wrapper that is marked exactly as these two black ones are, and same font. I"ve seen some with very very large three digit codes, and always wondered about the authenticity of those, I just have not held any of them in hand, these things pop up rarely, and one seldom gets to handle them. I"d like to own one of these black beautys one day, however, finding one is much easier said than done, and it seems those that have them are tucking them away for good reason.

Hey Brian, did you make that one also yourself?

Hello, and thanks Bnz, I as also curious how one is able to identify the 627 stamp as a maker from KZ Lager.

The Holy Grail.....that is amazing. Well the holy grail would be to have Max's original Panzer set, I imagine that would set me back 100k +

If I purchased that I would have to do some serious explaining to do to the missus... Hopefully sometime down the track I will be able to indulge.

Thanks for the pics, great looking jacket...note, I'm still looking for any info or documentation that places this 627 code with KZ manufactured SS cloth, any help?

Scott, not sure if there is any documentation but what I have also heard is that basically all these three-digit codes found on SS uniforms are coded-kz-markings. And btw do you remember the discussion about human hair in German uniforms some years ago here on the forum? I swear that wrap has hair that visually - human.. I even wanted to bring a few samples that I pulled from it to a medic.lab to for the analysis and trust me I did not want to believe in it and maybe that's why I changed my mind.. I mean it looked identical to human hair.
P.S. it is a harsh, very low-quality wool (I think late-war), made of all kind of staff and different materials mixed in it.
BTW I always thought that the fact that SS forced unimaginably-suffered-kz-inmates to make uniforms and insignia for them was just really.. I do not even know how to call it .. ..most disgusting and cruel and most primitive. They looked sharp but their dids were "subhuman"

And from you, Ludwig, I would never expect to hear anything else what in your opinion, all who collect love Adolf Hitler and SS ?
Germans had cool style, excellent design, advanced technology, beatiful precise and accurate order in everything, they tried to be perfect/ best - and that what I like and that is why I collect. PS. ..and of course blondies!

EXACTLY the answer I expected to get!

No, I donĀ“t think all collectors love AH and SS.
I just have to go to myself. But human hair in uniform cloth... Come on!
