well,i don't know on this...first time ebayer...outbids me in the final second...does not pay..i am second in..does not get offered to me..my questions go unanswered...this bidder had no intention of purchasing..and i miss out on a good piece at a good price (after doing my homework)..

I still think it was a schill bidder..

I am not particularly unhappyat the moment, but was pretty pissed off when it went down...but this is e-bay...

      kurskss,
I'm lost in this thread. Was the tk offered once before by the same seller?

Yes, it was...i and this bidder with 0 feedback were really the only 2 bidding on this..the idiot didn't pay..never completed the transaction..if i remember,if this guy did not bid..i would have had it in the high $200.00 range..

I was never contacted by the buyer when i expressed my concerns with a first time bidder bidding on a higher dollar piece, that if the transaction did not go through,i wanted to be in,and would purchase at the winning price(my bid would have been better ,but...)

Never heard from the seller..buyer has since been kicked off of e-bay for bidding and not paying on just the right amount of items to get you booted off...i feel that something funny went on,as i bid in good faith.

Kurskss, you are probably right -- it was most likely a shill (and that is how you spell it, BTW ).

I didn't think it through. But, it sure worked for the seller. Got him an extra $350.

Is this tab so rare it is really worth $843? Is it just because it is combat worn and not Dachau?

Well, I think it is. I wasn't prepared to bid much higher though.

            See here.....

I missed it the first time around........didn't see it until it was posted on the Forum after the first auction ended.

I have sent emails to the seller post-sale and they have all been answered.....he seems very legit to me.

Well Robin, i would imagine he would..he garnered an extra $350.00 plus from the sale..besides..you always talk to the front, never the shill ..(thanks for the sp. tip! I am an english major, but this internet thingy has eroded my memory of the queens english)

Everyone involved seems to be happy with the outcome, but forgive me if i don't celebrate quite so loudly for any of them..

              enough said. lets move on..

In the Ebay forums, I read about some Ebay car dealer who is known for cancelling his auctions at the last second if his price has not been met. I guess he has an auction cancel-sniper. At least that is a bit more honest than shilling.

Ebay just says "that's part of the game."

Hello An interesting post. Any opinions on the tab on the left. It looks a little like the tab being discussed. I don't see anything like it in the fake section. As you can see it's a little smaller than a standard tab. I've had the tab 7 or 8 years so it's not a new fake. Thanks

The tab on the left is a very poor copy of the original one on the right. There are 1001 differences between it and the one that started this thread.
That type of fake appeared a few years ago in a well-known book on SS uniforms........but nowhere was it labelled a fake.

Hello Thanks for the info. I paid next to nothing for the tab and it sounds like that's what it's worth. Nice pick up. Kirby
