SIPO truncheon

I am just a medal guy so this is out of my league.
Need some help with this, any opinions?

It is a perfectly legitimate SIPO (Sicherheitspolizei) spring truncheon. These have been made since the 1920s. The postwar ones usually have some non-steel parts. Yours appears to be pre-war from what I can see.

BTW, it is regular police equipment and has nothing to do with the SS.

It is 100%, I had once one just like yours. It is a police item but no doubt used by the SS since those have been found among gestapo/SD effects...

Please keep in mind that many normal uniformed police forces prior to 1933 were called sicherheitspolizei. They had nothing to do with the third reich Sicherheitspolizei commanded by Heydrich.

Of course it cannot be excluded that maybe such an item was also used by SD and SS but IMO it should be treated as a normal uniformed police duty item.

This one is made in the 20's or 50's for the Sipo . The original ones of the 30's and 40's comes with DRGM and DRPA above and beneath the SIPO logo and are very rare !
