Two Ss Rank Tabs...original???

Hi all:
I have these two SS rank tabs. The one with the smaller 'pips' I'm quite sure is a repro, but what do you think of the other one???

The one on the left is definately BOGUS... and I'm not really happy with the other one either... gut feel more than something I can put my finger on... just don't like it.

Thanks for the confirmation on the 'Bogus' tab (on the left). If anyone has any further specifics on the other tab (on the right) please PM or e-mail me.
The right tab (Untersturmfuhrer) is the correct dimensions (40mm X 55mm).
I'm wondering though if the rank tress (strip) is supposed to be a silver color. Were the originals silver-colored or just white??

Collar Tab

The piping on the collar tab on the right appears to be two-strand instead of three. Is the backing on this tab as porous in the weave as it is in the other tab? The tab on the left looks like the "found in a tailor shop in the Ukraine" variety of reproduction, though the color of the backing is different.

The buckram backing of the tab on the right is cross-hatched, but not 'pourous' (tightly woven, not open like latice work). The piping is two-strand. Were originals ALWAYS three stranded??
