I have a friend (now 87 years old) that originally lived in Breslau and was there during the Russian attack. He originally belonged to LAH (served with them from Dec 1939 until he was wounded in 1943), but joined a volksturm unit in Breslau where he was an instructor at a military school. He took out 3 Russian tanks with Panzerfaust, for which he in April was awarded the RK by Heinz Macher. He also in April received a letter from RFSS praising him for this victory. Also, an article was written about him in German and Austrian papers (I have both these originals today). During the blockade, he was asked to drive to Dresen to deliver documents and was allowed to leave with his pregnant wife in a Opel staff car. This is just a little piece of his history.

great pleas ask him abaut waffen ss unit from Deutsch Lissa(part of Breslau)
it was 1 festung regiment Besslein and abaut battle of Flugplatz Gandau.
maybe He know somthing abaut festung cmentary in Breslau Kossel near jewish cmentary.(Breslau Pilsnitz) and I own two waffen ss soldbuchs from soldiers killed in Breslau durning april 1945 one was from Herres Unteroffizier Schule Strigau,and
another one from Wiking,and from 1944 instruktor is Deutch Lissa.
