    SS Flag at Auschwitz

In the book, Auschwitz: A History In Photographs (Indiana University Press & Ksiazka I. Weidza, Warsaw) 1993, 1995, 1999, on page 74, picture 48, there is a picture of a flag raising ceremony and muster in the main camp in front of some sort of administrative building. It is not the Kommandantur or Hoess’s office.

      Thanks for the info Charles.

In regards to the Fw190, it is a new project. I restore aircraft here in the US, Canada, and Germany. There are numerous Fw190's here in the US A-3 and A-8 in Texas, F-8 in Florida, A-5 in Washington, A-8 in illinois, a D-9 in Ohio...the list goes on.

In regards to the flag and the collection...

A lot of the collection has already gone to Steven Wolf in California over the past few years.

Everyone has an opinion on what is real and what is fake because there are SO MANY fakes around.

Unfortunatley (as most experts will agree), a lot of German items nowadays you cannot confirm the originality unless you actually see it up close. Yes, there are a lot of fake SS items out there. This is not one of them.

The collection consists of a lot of very rare German items, including a large Eagle Plaque that came off a locomotive (so far the only real one we've seen), Flag Pole Tops (also very rare) and the Army Flag to go with it - which was sold for $9,000 last year and it is in books now. Most of this stuff has been in the family for 60 years. A lot of people don't want to believe it is real, but when it's in there hands they know 100% it is original.

Like I said, I was asked to spark interest in the flag, and as I was familiar with this web-site I thought I would begin here as I have had some really good experiences here.

We have already had many offers on the flag from those who have seen it in person.

If none of the offeres match what the price wanted, it will most likely go down to Steven Wolf down in the Long Beach...
