SS whistle

I posted this whistle some time ago on estand. I bought it from a very good source and thought it to be original. I had a potential buyer, he got opinions from other forum members via PM, and they had there doubts.....
So I would like to ask opinions now so I can get this resolved.

Is this a know reproduction? Is there photographic evidence of this whistle being period?

Jeff,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Sorry but this whistle appears a reproduction.
Whilst there is still a bit of contraversy on style/shape of SS Whisles,this item most certainly would not have been stamped just with the sig-runen.To comply with the rules it would have had the RZM code maker/distributor with almost always the year of manufactor. If I recall there is also an issue with the lip on the underside at the mouth piece end on these type's ,,,,,,,,,,,,,, Stephen

I got this whistle that I sold longer time ago to Jeff out from a veterans buy over in germany with some other original cloth items out from the same source. Everything was original and I never questioned this whistle and still don't do it.

hello all, i too have the same whistle, but mine has a black lanyard and rzm tag attached, i bought it for 150 uk. but ive got my doubts about the authenticity. ive seen loads of these lately, id love to think its real, but i wouldnt be the least bit surprised if it turns out another repro. im a sucker for those runes
