As an aside, where the Skanderbeg goat's head collar tabs applied to uniforms and issued? Most people I asked sdaid yes but there have been some dissents and I need to make sure.

Ryggard, you sure know how to find the good photos. Bob, I spend a lot of time checking out Bill and Peter's items and usually head over to their web sites whenever I need a reminder why I am banging my head against the wall through college.

Poor 'old' eyes these days! Thanks... that's what I thought but wanted confirmation. A very nice picture. I'd love to have this guy's tunic! Foreign volunteer tunics are very difficult to acquire, especially Eastern European like Latvian and Estonian.

Yes bob they are.....Its amazing how seldom you see this particular collar tab...Ive only seen 3 & one is well published. However there is an abundant amout of photo evidence for latnian & estonian collar tabs. I own about 200 photos of latvian volunteers & only 1 shows the so called "fire cross" swastika in wear...the rest are all home made & bevo runics......

Now on to HUNYADI These 2 are probably of no help as they have no collar tabs at all. I got these back in the late 80's. The seller had Id say 100 of these books & only 1 of them had the collar tab soldbuch photo. Sadly Id just missed it by about 5 mins. Only one Id ever seen with the H tab. As a side note I think these went for $15 then....Last Hunyadi book I saw sold for I think $750 on Sheas' site.....

These , although unsolicited from Matt, are for Bob while we were on the subject of Latvians in the Waffen SS. Please note this great shot...its dated 1944 & clearly shows a Latvian with a branch piped visor this late in the war! I know this would have worked better in earlier forums about branch piped visors but I have mountains of photos and to be honest have to be in a scanning & posting mood Funny that when most Latvians were making their own runes this gentleman has German made insignia & wearing a visor that was ordered out of use by RFSS Himmler 1 1/2 - 2 yrs earlier!!!!!
