SS visor cap - stapled?

A recent, unfortunately not very pleasant, discussion on this forum was discussing contruction of an officer SS visor cap.

A particular question was left unanswered - have anybody ever experienced an original SS (Allg or W-SS) NCO or officer visor cap with a staple in the reverse of the sweatband? The originals I have seen all had the sweatbands sewn in the reverse.

I can not picture a staple in a real ss visor.But after 61 years who could really know what fool could have messed with a hat.straight from the vet,what about all the friends and family the could have messed with the hat.

I can't recall having seen a staple in any cap. I looked through some of my books and found what I believe to be staples. My eyes are not the best so maybe someone else who has the book can take a look. I know they are not SS but I thought I would post pictures for a peaceful discussion. Two of them are Luftwaffe and one is a KM.

I was looking at some of my caps and noticed that I have one that looks like a staple from a distance. Its thread.... The other pictures from the book are most likely thread.

Very interesting and thank you for those images they speak volumes since that thread could be mistaken for a staple in a photograph or digital image and visa versa. I speculated about this and you have answered my question with your images.You have proven as well that images can be mistaken for something else and are not clear enough to pass an absolute judgement without hands on.Of interest is that the positioning of the "staple" or "thread" on a couple of the pictures is remarkably the same as on the SS visor in question and the known fake SS visors.

No speculation...the cap featured is a modern made item.

Dave which one all of them or the one at the bottom?The White top NCO appears to be made in the style of Pekuro caps.
