Totenkopf Collar Tab with Number Removed

Very nice tab, I had one as well and always thought it might have been cut to be a horizontal tab,the number or letter removal does make more since. I have seen 3 like that now yours, mine, (long gone) and one other that a friend had years back,

I found a photo of mine, you can just see some stiches above the skull,

and I tell you how I got mine, I was at the MAX on year with a small display of SS insignia, and a guy walked up to me and said he knew where a nice skull tab was for sale in Arlington Texas, at I shop I just had happen to have been at in the past. I got back to my room, called dirctory assistance and was able to put the tab on hold, and eventual got it. It is always nice to see collectors help collectors, sort of what this forum is all about.
I have had guys help me with stuff here and I have tryed and had some sucess helping other collectors as well.
The fun part of this hobby, it does have a dark side and there is no force to use,(for any Star Wars fans)

If I remember correctly the black and silver piping was discontinued in August of 1940.

they probably can be reunited,,but who will be first in willing to give up an arm and a leg for it???
