      Hi Lorenzo,
      I don't think that this particular pip is period, still the ones with the pins on the outside (like yours) can be period in several variations...I believe there are a couple of these (on uniforms) in the beaver books as well...they have a different appearance compaired to yours.

      Some don't believe in this type of pip but only in the type of pip that has the pins in the center. I am no insignia expert at all but would tend to say that both styles are valid in several variations and both styles were in use and production after the war as well in different variations (such as yours?).

      Perhaps an insignia expert can help us out here...

        Hi Lorenz.

        I agree with Fritz. Here are a pair of original Oberscharführer straps with a single pip with side tabs. Notice how short the tab is on these and the shape of the tabs whihc are taped to the end.
