Very nice example of this comparatively common visor by a maker that (by reference) has produced a larger quantity of officer caps; my congratulions.

This cap just sits there and speaks to you, "I'm the real thing!" When you look at a cap like this the only thing that pops into your mind is, "WOW!" No questions pop in there about authenticity... this speaks for itself. Congratulations on acquiring a great cap!

Unfortunately, the eagle is a well known fake.
              Congrats on the visor though.

              Best, Chris

Great visor, I've owned two by this maker now but they weren't as nice as this. I must say that I had my doubts about the eagle. No worries on the Deschler TK though, a very nice example.

Hi guys, thanks for the replies so far. I must say I am a bit suprised the eagle isn't good. I admit my knowledge of SS Visor is very limited (I am a daggers guy) so I bought this from a very respected UK dealer who specializes in SS cloth.

I've sent him an email and I am waiting for his reply.

                    Best regards,

                    Kris Simoens.

I just did the scariest thing of my life.Removing an eagle from an SS Visor

Anyway, it's marked RZM , M1/52 and looks pretty old to me but maybe not old enough...

                      Further opinions are gladly accepted.

                      Best regards,

                      Kris Simoens.

This eagle is the mate to the so called "mustache" fake skull.
They were introduced together and share the same drooped "5"
Of course, this eagle is far from the real Deschler eagle design.

                          Best, Chris

Absolutely beautiful visor cap. Shame about the eagle, but at least you've got the hard part out of the way.

Yet another piece that will probably remain near the top of my "wants list" for a very, very long time.

I would remove the paper owners slip though.

Thanks for the replies. So the eagle goes back and will be replaced with a real M1/52 eagle.

Why should I remove the paper tag with the owner's name ?

                                Best regards,

                                Kris Simoens.
