    ss ashtray?

    hello gents, could i have opinions on this please. i have seen plenty of ss-reich mess hall pottery but never seen an ashtray before. has anyone else? best regards, mark.

        Hi Mark

        I have handled something like this before and believe it is a reproduction or fantasy item.

        It will be interesting to see what other members who collect pottery think

          ive not seen this item before either, but that dosnt mean its a repro or fantacy piece the stamp on the bottom looks good and wouldnt ring my alarm bell. who knows ? id take a risk if i saw it for sale, what price did you pay markie?

            This is a 100% original one. Not the quite same stamp but then again I cannot say if yours is good or bad since I am not that into porcelain. BTW my is-was for sale on the forum...

                thanks for your replys, i havn`t bought the ashtray yet and the seller wants £38 for it. he also has a few more pieces including a teapot with markings ive not seen also? all the best, mark.

                  Mark,

                  I originally thought the ash tray was good and the markings good. However, when I saw the tea pot, it is clearly a fake. No third reich organization used the swastika in that format. The DAF was similar but not the same. I would be weary of both now simply because of the tea pot. Nevertheless, the markings on the ash tray look good to me as being authentic. Check out my SS porcelain for comparisons. Here is the link:
