Hi,

Can any tell me which version of tunic the BFK were issued with?

I believe they were mostly M44 (short-waisted, two pocket Ike-like British battle dress).

As a total beginner whats the differnce between the 42 & 43 patterns?

"M42" and "M43" is really just collector terminology for basically the same thing. Some will call the "M43" feldbluse with slightly pointed pocket flaps an "M42". Whereas an "M43" proper has straight cut pocket flaps.
