Pfui
The illustrated cap is a nicely made fake. Sorry. I cannot recall if there are illustrations of authentic caps of this kind here, but look in the Hayes book, as well as the McQuire/Moran book, &c. for illustrations of the post-1937 or so variant of this cap. The piece at hand, though, is based on these illustrations in part. The RZM tag here is an above average fake, also, which is perhaps the most cunning and troublesome aspect of this new, old fetid woolen headwear. The stamp on the sweat band is odd, too. In any case, I shall not divulge specifics here any further, since such would only spoil things for many others. sapere aude. Is this a new iteration of Latvian or Baltic stinker? I shall say, though, that Hersteller A1/4 made these kinds of caps, but they did not look like this one, really. auf zu neuen Ufern! I have actually seen much better executed fakes of SS officer caps, in which many more of the details are held more nearly to the prototype. This one is only 3/4 there.
******Photos of this cap are now below******

Oops. Ich bin schuld.
I fear that I said something here to offend the party in question and spoilt the deal. Dear Gary, please send me your coordinates via a personal note, and I can provide you images of the cap in question. I downloaded some of them. I also have some other images to share with you, too.
