Have not had this one in my hand, but will post scans here for opinions, please. While I am in no way well-experienced with SS-related items, this pin seems to shout "fantasy" to me. I cannot find it in any books that I have. The enamelling seems poorly done and the wording wrong ("Geheimpolizei" should read "Geheime Staats Polizei" for Gestapo?).
In picture 1, the motto reads: "Fur treue Dienste im Geheimpolizei" and the button bears a date "1939".
In picture 2, the reverse of the pin is marked: "Ges. Gesch" and the button bears a number "0031" and lettering "Berlin".
Is this a known piece of insignia, or is it a fantasy piece?
Regards,
John
