Have you ever seen one of these "Wiking" plates? A former SS-Sturmbannführer from the "Wiking" Division gave it to me.

That is a very nice plate you got there John. I have never seen one like that before. Can you tell us the name on the stubaf, and wich unit in "Wiking" he fought with?

    Cheers

******216;yvind - Thanks. G******252;nter Bernau from the Artillery Regiment "Wiking" gave it to me during a visit to his house in 1995. It was hanging on the wall of his home office and he took it down and gave it to me as a gift. Now it hangs on the wall in my home office. In case people don't know Bernau was a holder of the Ehrenblattspange and German Cross in Gold. He started out as a signaler, but transferred to the artillery because he was color blind and would have got his wires crossed.

      Regards,

      john

              Hi,

The Norge cuff title is so rare that any collection with this is hardly a "limited" one.

              Very nice display.

              Thanks for showing.

Sören - That is for sure a nice display for Rgt. "Norge". Do you have something similar for Rgt. "Danmark"? Some people may not know it, but there was a battalion from each of these regiments assigned to the "Wiking" division in 1945.

                  Hi John

This is mainly a Norwegian thread concerning the Norwegian Frontfighter "Wiking" badge, but in reply to your question I can also show the "Danmark" cufftitle from my collection. By the way the well worn enlisted men "Wiking" cufftitle just below the "Danmark" was found on the Danish island of Bornholm and could have belonged to a Danish veteran.

And finally my well worn "Wiking" flatwire type, this originates from a Danish W-SS veteran.

The armflag is new for me. I have never seen this model in silk before. These flags were used under the SS eagle at Fallingbostel but mostly the model in cotton were used.

                              Regards

Hi Derek the Norwegian flag arm-shield is weaved in red and blue cotton thread same way as the Galizien or the BeVo army style foreign legion arm-shields, I don't think is made of silk. I believe that Øyvind also has one exactly like mine hopefully he can verify.

                                Cheers
