I don't think that SS cut wraps existed before 1942 or at least much before. All of the ones identified in Mollo's book (for example) that are attributed as SS style wraps in the early photos, as well some later photos (post 41) are actually Heer style wraps. The SS tended to button the lower lapel button on Heer style wraps that they used, thus making the lapels appear shorter like they were cut on the SS style wrap.
I my opinion Heer cut wraps are very "textbook" for W-SS wear, but perhaps not in the "Uniform 101" courses.
In any case, I agree with the others on the wrap that is posted. The material is unlike anything that I have seen on an original wrap.
Better photos of the inside would help, but I don't hold much hope that this one is period.
