armband

thanks for the reply, the only reason i want this to be genuine is because i dont want a fake so why i would try and kid myself by putting two different armbands on would be ridiculous and the only person id be fooling is me,and i dont want it to be described as genuine to sell it as i wanted to own a genuine piece like most collectors and like i said simon102nd who is also a member of this forum can vouch for me i only own 1 armband be it fake or genuine the pic where it looks stained had no flash and i stood over it taking the pic the only explanation coud be i put a slight shadow over it,i joined this forum because i seriously do not know a great deal on how to spot a fake and i really enjoy collecting 3rd reich militaria,but i keep buying wrong,simon advised me to join as its helped him,but didnt join to kid myself or deceive any1

This is now getting to be like the SS dress badge where no one will post a pic of a genuine reverse. In the future, everyone please post extreme closeups like those above and we can just give a yes or no.

And I agree with Gary that we seem to have 2 different armbands here.

To be sure these fakes are better, but when placed next to an authentic piece, it is obvious that the newer item differs in crucial aspects. These electronic pictures are deceiving. In fact, the fakes of the early-1970s that originated here in the San Francisco Raum were superior to the fake here, save the Grundtuch was too red. These old fakes, I am sure, are now regarded by most as real. This Asian piece is about 70% there, I guess. It is all rather irritating.

I do not. They are rare, to be sure. They may have been associated with Delta International of fabled glory or not. However, they got the details correct that these post-modern fakes (illustrated here...)do not. The sole flaw of these flower-power era fakes was the shade of the Grundtuch. It was devoid of the orange color that was so typical of this kind of NS Grundtuch. The maker of these things was quite a skilled crook, and he also made a pile of SS and SA kepis, too. It might as well have all been in the 19th century, really.
