          This is a tough one. It has a lot of strengths, but there are some things which cause me to question it as well. The obvious one is the fact that the pins do not have the standard M1/52 round bases. However, other Deschler patterns did have pins such as these directly soldered to the back. There are several details which are not as crisp as I would expect, but some of these could be from wear on the badge or from being struck by worn-out dies. The characters used in "M1/52" are also not the standard ones, particularly the M, which does not look symetric. The characters show the lack of detail I was referring to as well.

          All in all, I can't rule this one out...yet. However, because of my reservations, if it were offered to me, I would pass...for now. I hope Chris can offer some insights.

              Sorry, but this is not one that I would have in my collection.
              I agree with all of the problems that Brad pointed out and I do not like any M1/52 skull without the discs underneath the pins.
              It appears to be a typical aged casting in my opinion.
