More than anything, this is just to check that I'm not going loopy and this is indeed a fake, bad, dodgy, crappy, sad attempt at a black visor. The seller was very kind in offering it to me and others for $1500 just after it got pulled by the ebay gestapo . The insignia I don't need help on, I'm know it's bad.

Bob, any sane person would agree I think but the reason why I trawl ebay is that a lot of my collection has come from there, including the untouched Allg. visor that needed some restoration, an Army Officers bergmutze, WSS Panzer M43, the list goes on.
Last week, an original Panzer Grenadier soutached Afrika Korp Officers M41 Erel made cap was on ebay uk briefly before it got pulled. I was speaking with Mark Gibson from Oz about it and he reckons it's the best he's seen in all his years of collecting AK gear and it will fetch ******163;5000 at least. The week before that Mark just outbided me on another AK Officers M41 without insignia. Nuff said I reckon but your right, 99.99% is crap.

A really terrible cap - no effort to even fake the real thing. Janke (et alia)versions, which sell by and by as originals, at least look the part . Generally speaking, you never get more than you pay for, but you can very easily get less, especially on E-bay. For what it's worth, there are better-looking, but still fake, versions of this cap for sale on (reputable) websites today for a great deal more money.Comment
