Hauptsturmfuhrer rank tab?

Hi I need your help on this rank tab, I have ben offerd this one, but when I was posting this thread the seller called me and said he had some doubts about it honest man
What do you guys think? Looks like the alu litze is newer than the rest of the tab.

Is the seller an honest man, or did he offer you this information when you said you were going to post it on the WAF? Maybe he got cold feet about it. IMHO I don't like the litzen or the silver twist cord piping. The whole thing doesn't look right to me, even with the seller's doubts. If the seller has doubts about it, then I'd say don't bother with it.

Then we'll give him credit for being honest. I can see the scenario where he's offering something bad but then finds out you're going to put it up on a forum like this and then panics because now more than one person will see it and give it a 'thumbs down'... then it will be more difficult to pass it on as original.

I agree with Ludwig although the age of the stripes compared with the overall tab is suspicious.

I agree the rank litzen looks older that the rest, but it maybe that the rank lizten's are silver plated copper wire rather than the normal aluminium wire the silver plated type would tarnish with age, better pictures of the litzen?
