Insignia is original. They are handstiched as well. Not very beautifully done but it looks good. Insignia has age toning as well.

I think its a good chance you have a nice untouched SS field cap.

Insignas are good, I am agree, more hat's pictures can help us to see if original or not, but seems a good one IMO.

The lining, the inside of the flaps, the top of the cap and closer shots of that grommet (inside and out).
