    Schuma cap badge.

Hi Guys, here is one that I bought back in the late 1970's. The guy had a whole roll of them. I paid £8 for it. I only wish I had now bought the lot .
    Cheers, Ade.

Hi Adrian, I believe yours to be a real one, unfortunatley this badge has been reproduced and has been making it's rounds in the states at quite a bit of shows. The repro's have been coming in both bullion and cloth thread. I think the reverse of yours is exactly the way it should be.

                Yuri,
Are both your examples woven in aluminium wire?
                cheers,
                Gary

Here is a Uniform a friend of mine had, the tunic was the police combat style, this was found with the cap , very used condition, at this time I can not remember where it was found he had all the detail, he did later sell this uniform,
                    cheers,

Yuri, I believe your sleeve patch is fine, the bullion should be similar to flatwire. I'm sorry but the cap patch appears to be the type, loose bullion, that is circulating at the shows. I passed on it many times because once you have it in hand the stiching is quite shoddy.
Also, I have never seen a bullion cap patch on a hat, they were always cloth, though I've been told they were suppose to exist.
The two pic's of the cap badge I've found are in Mollo's book on SD and Angolia's Insignia of the Third Reich, Cloth Badges and Emblems, 1974.

Hi Guys, I visited the IWM in London at the end of last year and they have on display some fake German insignia made for use by SOE. It included a fake Schuma armsheild. It looked very well made too. It just goes to show how long fakes have been around!
                          Cheers, Ade.

Hello all. Is this a good one? I'm tending to think it isn't after seeing this thread. - Thanks, Rob.

Here is my Schuma stuff, I just got the flatwire armshield on black, have had the other woven patches since the early 80s. I got the bullion shield at the MAX in 90 or 91, the top left cap badge and the two left sleeve shields are flatwire, I will post scans of the stuff if requested later,
