          The date may be a year apart, but this is as close to "perfectly matching" that you can get with Zimmermann pieces, (except for the materials, in which you could have a 499/41 skull with the copper reverse and also the same pin attachments as the eagle). Of course, the front side finish style and the condition is all that matters in order for a set to properly match. Anyway, that is a very nice and attractive set!

                      I know these aren't both Zimmerman, but they are both original to the cap and in mint condition. I guess they ran out of Zimmerman eagles and had to use M/167's

                            Sayle F shows us how to collect insignia, that is, in its virginal state. Let others look and weep. One hardly need mention that, in addition to this cap, he also found another grey cap in worn condition from an "old guy..." What does he leave for the rest of us?
