IN FLANDERS FIELDS : where NSB meets flemish SS an incredible attic find !!!!

After many people asked me to put these items on the Forum, I finally managed to get some pictures of the complete collection.

The following pictures are all of the same attic find . It unveils a very interesting history of a Dutch (!!) family living in Antwerp Belgium. The discovered uniforms and documents show that they were members of the NSB ( Nationaal Socialistische Beweging aka the Dutch Nazi party)
Although living in Antwerp, they actually were members and did duties as NSB.
The son Antoon Wolfs later joined the Waffen SS and followed several courses ending up in the 5 SS Pz. Div Wiking. The tragic end of his story is also included in the last pictures.
One of the daughters worked in the well-known E.Reitz uniformwerke in Merksem, a suburb of Antwerp, where they made German uniforms.
The father remained NSB member and was placed in Paris during the war. In 1944 he fled with others to Germany.

The most amazing thing of it all is that the whole set remained together and survived the 60 years seperating us from WWII in a remarcable condition, given the fact that all was hidden between roof boards of an attic somewhere in Antwerp. So all you see is original and of the same family.

NOTE : I would like to appeal to members of this forum to give me additional information about the ranks and piping colours of the uniforms.

All pictures are for this forum use only, I would not like it if they were to be used elsewhere without my permission.

    Thanks
    Werner Palinckx

                          Donnerwetter!

That's really quite astonishing! Someone should tell us what is in the letters as to the bio of this person in greater detail. Many thanks, indeed.

                            letters

There are about 40 letters, mostly feldpost and all written in Dutch. they give a good view of what the thoughts and feelings were of the family members during that critical period in their lives.
We have a pretty good idea of how they thought , lived and acted. Who their friends were and who they disliked. Where they stayed and worked.

But that is just too much to post it all here, and most members don't understand dutch, so I only gave a few examples.
