    My photo outside the forum

Hello guys, today I find the photo from my own collection at the Peter Whamond's site http://www.germanmilitaria.com/Waffe...os/S22154.html, in connection with that fact I would ask all collectors if anybody would like publishing any of my photo outside the forum, at least indicate my name near it.

In a lot of cases You will find that there will be more than just one print of any photo, i have many photos that are duplicated, and while we might own a copy of the photo's we do not own the copyright, unless it has been transferred to you by the original taker of the photo,

    the photo on the collectors guild site is credited;

Photo showing French volunteers wearing the M43 with black trapeziod. (Courtesy Dave Delich Collection)

So there is a copy of the same photo you have in another collection.
    cheers
    Gary

If it's the group shot, I too have a copy of that picture that I bought at a show many years ago. As Gary says, one would be surprised by how many copies of photographs were made for sale to members of a unit. The SS were selling images of the LAH as early as 1934.

Gary I am sorry but this photo is mine and not the photo from another collection because it is not real that 2 owners made absolutely the same scans of the photo. The scans on the Peters site are scans of my photo, shown at the forum together with enlarged fragment of black ss trapezoid. So I have a good experience now.

Derek, I am about portrait photo near group photo of French volunteers. And I believe the situation with photos of SS volunteers was not the same like with LAH photos.

            Sergey,

I am sure if you can prove ownership Peter will accredit you. I can't really see the issue we are all but temporary custodians of history. Several of my Das Reich Documents appear in Gordon Williamsons Iron Cross book, however they are still credited to his name(he was the original owner) even though I owned them long before the Iron Cross book was published, its just nice to see them in a widely respected work.

            regards

            Mark

Mark I think it is not a problem for Peter indicate my name near the photo as he indicate the names of another owners near their photos.

                Sergey,

I think you misunderstood me, if you email Peter I am sure he would put your name next to your photo.

                regards

A good point to Sergej: if I know a few examples of (original!) pictures of single soldiers or small groups privately purchased that were also published in books, Sergej's theory with two scans cut exactly the same way is pretty true.

The most funny is that whoever would be tempted to save the pics (for private use ) will get the negative answer "all pics property of..."

                  Regards
                  Gilles

                      Sergey,
I do not think you understood what mark said have you informed peter that the photo crop is yours?

In reality i see my photo's that i have posted all over and used in threads and the like without photo credit and i know they are downloaded as well, but if i did not want to share them i would not post them, so in reality while I understand what you are saying i really do not see it as such a problem as we are all here to share and ask and give help so if its an issue when you share them mark them with your name

                      cheers
                      Gary
