The differences between eye and edge and as you can see the graining also not the same.

The WAy of writting looks more clear, the same as all details of the medal. So I am sure that these medals were made by diffrent dies.

Hi Guys !
Thanks for inputs and comments !

I have done acouple of shots with my digital camera . This give a better dept feeling that scans . Dont know if it is any help in them .

Sergey, you are comparing it to a Deschler. If the 8 is real, it is a P&L. There are going to be differences.

What I don't like are what looks like pitting (from casting) in the letters. They should all be sharp and coin-like.

Curt, Ok these are two different makers, does anybody have another P&L 8 year SS long service medal for comparison. If you talk about not sharp letters on the medal shown by me, than I must say that such style of lettering is absolutely normal for this type of medals.
