    SS Photos with some Question

    Hello

I've just got these photos and have some questions about them.

Can you please tell me what SS Unit this Soldier belong too.

Also,I would like to know what kind of award he's wearing
(Ribbon with Medal on the right side).

I hope my Questions don't sound to dumb

I'll be very happy about any Infos available from these photos.

Maybe someone can make out the person from the photos.

    Many Thanks

    Regards
    Andreas

                  Andreas,
                  Nice pics.
The SS "N" collar tab is for SS Standarte (?) Nurnberg. I can look up more info on this unit for you later, but I am sure some others will fill in the details before that...
                  Regards,
                  Fred

Hi, the ribbon and medal looks like the Entry into Austria (Medal to commemorate 13th March 1938) . The collar tab is for SS Standarte "N" (Nurnberg) they were men drawn from "LAH" and "Deutschland" to provide guard detachments for the annual Party rally in the city.

                    Cheers, Ade.

                      Herrliche, aber traurige Bilder

Marvelous images. If you find the black uniform, too, I would be happy to buy it! Thanks for the little photo essay.

about the white Tunic..I have never seen images with SS in white Tunic. Does this also has something to do with him being a Spielmann??

                        Regards

                          Thanks Donald.

I think a dream would come true for me,if I'm able to find any kind of SS Tunic. I'd gladly trade these Photos for a plain SS Jacket

                          Regards

                            Adrian,

do you know how many soldiers belonged to the SS Standarte N******252;rnberg?
I imagine it were just a few,if it was only a Band.

or were they just drawn together on special occassions like the Rally??

and then went back to their regular units like LAH or Deutschland?

                            Regards

Hi Andreas, the only info I have is this:

SS Sturmbann "N" was formed from cadre drawn from "LAH" & "D" in August September 1936. Nurnberg was the unit's home base. The unit came under the control of the Inspectorate of the SS-VT in Berlin but tactical control was given to SS Standarte "D". The unit was converted to a Motorcycle battalion in November 1938. By mid 1939 the unit had been used as a filler for the SS anti -tank unit at Ellwangen and ceased to exsist as an independent unit.

The white tunic is an SS item and can be seen in wear by the "LAH" waiters, etc at the Berghof if I recall correctly.

                              Cheers, Ade.
