I think it is a fantasy piece from the 1970's but I would like to hear what other collectors have to say.

Hi Trevor..if it is an old fantasy piece from the 60s or 70's chances are it will not glow...I seem to remember Historical Military Art and Collectibles out of California selling these tabs, but I could be wrong and would like to get some more opinions.

Also, the shiny material on the back is often a bad sign, although you will find it on some original SS cloth, such as on some of the sleeve later diamonds.

              Hello Trevor,

These copies were sold in matching pairs in the 1970's. Back then I didn't save any copies (except for the unwitting mistakes I was making). They were made here in the US by a concern that made US and novelty patches. I always thought this would have been a great insignia for SS panzer men, but with pink piping. I would love to get great detailed photos for a reference I have had in progress.

In the land of the blind, the one eyed man is king.

Duct tape can't fix stupid, but it can muffle the sound.

HI Tommy, sorry about that, there is a forum member from Canada named Trevor Elliott and I got you two mixed up.

Bob, that would make sense about the white piping, but wouldnt the whole tab be in white if it was from HG?

                    John

Perhaps this is the jacket of GP's that you remember?

It is quite an anomaly as it has yellow "piping" sewn directly to the collar!

Bob you are right, the Hermann Goering Fallschirmpanzer division wore black backed collar tabs with white piping. As were the shoulder boards.
