Very very nice, Øyvind. That is super rare ss proficiency badge. Is the blask wound badge the type that has the textured background instead of the usual pebbling?

There were not too many awards of the SS prof badge so the group should be researchable. Darn nice find

          Wow! Super nice!

Could you please post some close-ups of the SS eagle?
Also, is that a 155 marked buckle?

          Thanks! Chris

Uh...Isn't that buckle the old Tony Oliver fake from the 1970's? The number after the OLT is part of ol' Tony's phone number.

That is for sure one of those OLT fakes!

Ziegler? The Waffen-SS veteran friend of mine in the Pacific North West was a Melder to a Sturmbannfuehrer Fredrich Zeigler (I believe that to be the correct spelling). I believe that he held a post in Norway as a Hauptsturmfuehrer before, anyhow the Vet is of Dutch orgin and really respected Zeigler. I am curious if it is the same officer.

I just got back from Norway a couple of months ago and found some great stuff up in Trondheim. Have you been to the Police Museum there? There is a good section of WW2 stuff there relating to Trondheim and the Occupation, and a couple of WSS items as well. Some photo albums and trinkets amongst all the police stuff. A pretty bizzare museum. I wanted to ask to see the Albums but my Norwegian is crap and the man working there barely spoke English and no German.... The Army Museum is awesome too. I had a blast cruising around Dora I and Dora II (The U-Boat Bunkers), laughing as one of the Admin buildings was home to the "Trondheim Jui-Jitsu Klubb".

Oberjunker, the Ziegler who signed this doc. must have been Brigadeführer Joachim Ziegler KIA in Berlin. He was taken away the command of the Nordland division in Berlin.
