Your pictures are too small. From what you have posted it seems the bill is a bit too long (large) for a factory-made example of the camouflaged field cap. With your pictures so small it is difficult to see the details one needs. Then again, you haven't offered up the cap for opinions, just simply posted pictures of it.

It's the same length as a standard m-43 a little wider it's probably field made, but utilizes a central seam and lacks vent holes

I see by clicking on the picture that you get a bigger one. This cap is not doing anything for me. I'll pass on it...

You're going to pass on it? I wasn't going to sell it to you. This cap was taken by my great uncle, who was under Patton's command.pvt. Lyle Willoughby along with a few helmets and a duffel bag of lugers, that he gave to everyone when he came home keeping two for himself.

                I agree with Bob....

IMO this is not a issued period waffen ss item, it may be fieldmade or whatever...But it doesn't look like a issued ss camo cap to me....

                Cheers

I'd like to know how you can see is not an authentic one by these pictures

I don't believe issue caps were made with linings, but many items were made by the tailors that were in the units

                      With respect :-
Which camo pattern is the cap supposed to be made of ?
                      And
What was the cap made from ... i.e. which standard issue camo item was cut up to make this cap ?

                      Ian.

It appears to be oak A... I didn't check the pattern for its authenticy but if it's authentic then the fabric could come from a Zeltbahn, a smock, a coverall etc. in other words it could come from any oak a item that was made using the zeltbahn type fabric and which is large enough to construct a cap. One would need better pics to say if the fabric is ok and it is recommended to look close at the print and check it. This can be time consuming....and I don't feel a need to do that in this case.... ...

                        Cheers

There are several things...one is the stitching. The others I won't post as you never know who is looking .

                          Cheers

Yes, no lining on original factory made camo caps, only a sweatband sewn to the autumn side...

                            Cheers
