    Camo hat eagle fake?

    Hello, someone said to post pics of this eagle on forum first to make sure it was original.. Please give me any input.

      It's a fake. Cap eagles weren't embroidered on camouflage material and, in reality, insignia were only authorised on camo caps for a couple of weeks in December 1942 before the order was rescinded. Bevo insignia in green and brown shades on black were manufactured for camo caps, but rarely actually applied. I believe that only a handful of original camo caps with insignia have ever turned up, and I don't believe I've ever seen a period photograph of the camo cap with camo insignia being worn.

          Hi Bob the skull is great .. is it (black) synthetic ??
          In your opinion there were synthetic fibres?

Notice both men wearing caps have the factory-applied camouflaged insignia block cut. Also in Bruder is a couple of photos of a man in the Wiking Division riding in a half-track wearing camouflaged insignia. These two photos are also in Mike Beaver's camouflaged book:
