Hi Spectre, I have never seen that type of sewing that is holding the piping on the runes board. That in and of itself does not make the tab bad it's just very different. Sonny

Am I the only one who thinks the bullion piping on the tabs looks too thick?

Also, is it two or three stands of bullion piping on these?

It is three strands and if you take some time to study a few pictures you will find that collar tab piping had no set thickness diameter, these are within reason.

Thanks everyone, John is right, the rune tab has 3 strands and the rank tab may as well. I can't tell as the ends are sewn down so tight I can't separate them to tell.

Maybe it was the supersize pictures throwing you off a bit.
