    Hello all,

I have just received this from the curator at Wewelsburg! With a bit of luck more information should come from this extremely interesting location.

Dear Mr. Jackson, thank you very much for your mail, where you told us about
that interesting copy of Mein Kampf. We do not know this stamping version
"Eigentum der Bibliothek....", we know only another, round seized stamping.
Maybe it was a very early stamping.
It is right, that W. Franzius worked at Wewelsburg, but not in the library
(the leader of it was Hans Peter des Coudres) Franzius worked in
archaeological projects and in the rebuilding of the
SS-Dorfgemeinschaftshaus (village community house). There was a cellar room
    especially for the Hitlerjugend.
I cannot give you more information at once but we will research in our
archive, if we find a hint to this special stamping or to the Hitlerjugend
in Wewelsburg. I beg for your patience till we can give you more
informations to this really exciting object.

    Yours sincerely, Kirsten John-Stucke
    Kindest Regards to you all

    Steve Jackson

I have seen the exact same pictures in a different forum. To my recollection the opinion there was this is a forgery.

          Dear der-hase-fee
Just to make this clear - are you referring in your post to the fake Wewelsburg stamps that appeared in the book that started this thread - or are you making a comment on the original Wewelsburg Dienstalteliste on our web site that Martin mentions in the post prior to yours ??

I am referring to the pictures posted at the beginning of this thread, of course. Sorry if my posting should have been ambiguous.

              Books

To me the HJ members list and stamps look real. The dedication and stamps IMO are added later and are not fro m the time period. I have been the Wewelsburg it was a very serious and academic place. I was stationed near there for three years and things from the SS and the castle would surface every once and awhile in antique stores and at flea markets. I saw several very expensive atlases and large format reference books from the castle library but do not recall specifically what the stamps said just that it was round and I believe embossed. As noted above I very much doubt this 8 RM version Meinkampf would be in the library with the dust jacket etc. Notice the library inventory number also appears to be in the same hand and ink as the dedication. For 30 you did well just with the HJ stamps. I do not believe it is real. The style of the stamp is very close to the fake stamps used in the 70s and 80 for "AH and HH library" marked books etc.

                Go to "Special Collections"

                Then "Long Dark Years"

The list starts on page 60.
