    original ss tunic

    Hi.
Here's one for all you ss collectors be it tunic/cloth/cufftitle's etc
this tunic was bought from a vet ,i know you heard it all before .
But this tunic is untouched in every way it has only been hoverd to remove dirt and any remaining moth eggs.all insignia is original to the tunic,it has obvious battle damage and moth damage from bad storage as you can see from the pics it is the rank of sturman not the highest of ranks but the insignia is a beauty to behold.
i would say it is about 1940 issue or earlier pleated pockets etc. an unusual detail is the belt supports have been turned inside and upside down pherhaps you could throw light why.
the insignia consist of ss flatwire collor patch ,sturmans patch, infantry shoulder boards ,arm eagle, chevron and a flatwire
Adolf Hitler cufftitle.the title and eagle are machine sewn the collars and chevron by hand. when the tunic was hoverd the resulting dirt was saved for possible analasis to deturmin where he fort.please see scans .
    it is not for sale

                        cufftitle

                        Hello Merdock,

The tunic is a nice original but I do have a question on the cufftitle. I don't collect SS so don't take this the wrong way. Years ago I was looking at buying a AH cufftitle and one of the key methods for determing a copy was the lack of the little leg coming off the O in Adolf. It appears that yours is also missing the leg. Anyway I was just wondering if anyone else had some comments about that.Regards Jim

                          Jim,
yes that is true of one of the fake BeVo type AH band, the cuff band above is a flatwire officers and the up stroke is there just hard to see,
                          cheers,
                          Gary

                            Merdock,
Nice SS combat tunic. Did the verteran provide you with any history associated with liberating the piece?
                            Dave
