A friend owns this tunic but has no idea if it is original or not. I have little knowledge of uniforms and insignia (I'm into helmets), so I offered to post it here. All comments and opinions welcome.

Hmmm...In my early morning opinion;
the tunic itself seems ok, the runic tab is odd, but there was a war-time made variant pattern sort of like that was made that way, I'd have to see it closer to be sure. It is odd how the rank tab looks so much cleaner than the runic. I don't like the stamp in the pocket flap at all, and the runes stamp inside seems like they were trying for 1st pattern helmet runes, which again is very odd.
Given the anomalies on it I would say that it may be an original tunic that was 'enhanced' at some point. or as they say: "a sum of the parts" . IMHOComment

If my eyes are not going bad I would say that the shoulder boards have been re-attached and I think I see the outline on the reverse of the collar where Heer tabs once were. I am no SS guy but those stamps I am pretty sure are fantasy stamps. To add the award loops don’t look right plus it seem someone went to town with the loops to really badge this up. I am just a Army guy but is seems plenty messed with to me. I am sure the SS guys will address the insignia themselves.Comment
