As Øyvind has earlier mentioned theres a look-a-like pair of these tabs in another collection here i Norway. These tabs has provenience directly from the widow of an norwegian volunteer in the Norwegian Legion.

The earlier illustrated pair of tabs looks well worn, unfortunately this does not show to well on the picture. We all know however that sandpaper exists

As i have mentioned before theres a huge documented variety of all kinds of different collartabs beeing used varying from no tabs, to blank tabs, to metallion on singles and both tabs, with and without axe(-s), embroided ones etc. etc...

We would like some expert opinions on the above illustrated collartabs.

Here is the tab I wrote about (its not from my collection, but it is located here in Norway)
(Sorry if this is a bit off the topic A.H.)

Ps: If the owner of this tab dont want me to post pictures of the tab, I will remowe it.

            Hei ******216;yvind.

I wouldn't say that you're off topic, i would say that you're right on the spot

What it all boils down to is the fact that the variety of tabs belonging to the Den norske Legion/1. Politikompani is almost overwhelming, and so far on this theme there seems to be rather few opinions which really has anything worth at all. The mass of pictures from Den norske Legion/1. Police Company really shows an abundance in variety regarding these tabs, and my little question, although rather difficult to get an answer on, is as simple as this:

Can the variety of different tabs be explained purely by someones thumbs up or down, often without so much getting to the point where ones really document why theres seems to be so many different tabs floating around. And i have'nt forgot all the fellows whose in the business of fabricating these tabs nowadays. Could there have been some original tabs locally made for instance in Norway ? Or in Germany? Or somewhere else ? Or is it just a slight possibility that only because we can't fully explain the origin of all these different tabs that we automatically disregard their possible authenticity because of lack of insight in not only the formal regulations of the Legion but also the different political motifs of those individuals who in fact bore these collartabs ?

You could not have said it any better AH! I will follow up with two tabs from my own collection, just to show the variety of tabs from this unit. Im not saying they are original or fake, but I would be very glad to find out. The metal device lion is 100% original, and the tab it self looks good (none of these two tabs came directly from a veteran).

              Cheers
              Øyvind

Another officer version, but here with a metal lion. This one is also located in a Norwegian WSS-collection. If the owner of this tab dont want me to show it, please let me know.

                      Cheers
