Collar Tab Den norske Legion - embroided officer

Just wanted to share this collar tab with you. Any comments would be greatly appreciated.

The norwegian Legion used all kind of collar tabs, runic, metall lions, embroided lions, blank collar tabs and some of the men actually did not wear any tabs at all. So much for regulations

Welcome Arne H******229;kon! Im so glad you decided to join this fantastic forum! Looking forward to see some pics of your wonderfull collection here.

Regarding your embriod tab, have seen a (almost) simoular tab in a collection we both know of, but I would like to see the reverse of your tab! Do you have any history behind it?

    Cheers mate

Thanks ******216;yvind for your kind words.

Time will tell if i decide to put some pics of my own collection here.

Regarding the reverse of the tab i'll have to ask the original owner for his permission.

Could Gary or someone else comment this tab? Nightmare, fake or original?

I've seen another example of the same tab in a well known collection here in Norway.

As i am not the owner of this tab i have to get some pictures from the original owner first. The owner has to get some photographic help before better pictures can be supplied.

Well, its not looking very good to me...

Tinsel shiny litzen..... Not a good sign. backing is unusual.

I wouldnt want these in my collection.

                    Im sorry.

                          -

I once had a pair, but the lion was made of metal.
That lion was used by the Norwegian police and they just put it on black tabs and voilá! An SS collar tab for the Norwegian Legion.

Im no expert at all, BUT I have seen originals examples simular to this in collections here in Norway, and they have come directly from veterans! There are several embriod varations as well. Im not sure if we can put this tab in the fake section yet.

As for metal lions VS embriod lions, they came in both variations. Photo I have posted showes a EM/NCO embriod lion.

                            Cheers

I have a picture of an embriod "DnL" tab with thick silver thread lion (from a Norwegian collection). It is without the silver bullion around the tab. Will post picture of it later on today.

                              Cheers
