    I saw these on a site and IMHO there are fakes.

    Am I right?

      From your picture they look like reproductions to me. You can compare them to these to be sure. Bob

        Yeah, not looking good from what I can see in these photos. Sloppy emroidered pips and wrong backing.

            Rene: If these were for sale, I'd keep walking! These are typical of the reproductions that you see all around, some being advertised as genuine and some as museum-quality reproductions. They're close enough for a museum to use in an exhbit by themselves, or tacked onto a tunic that is missing the collar tabs, but they are still pretty far from the originals. I've noticed on some of the newer reproductions that the acorns are really starting to look pretty good, but the oakleaves themselves leave a lot to be desired.

              And perhaps it does not match the originals I think it is a niece piece of work.

                  I agree they are fake, i have though seen much better fakes, just like the fake officers sleeve eagles out there some are very good.

                  one thing i have noticed though on some of these later fakes is some of the alu wire is not alu but synthetic aluminium, like Christmas tree tinsel, you often see many fake modern 7 strand cuff titles with this in the edging, and for the faker its a nightmare to age as they can age the embroidery but on the whole do very little with the synthetic aluminium, although i have seen this aged and aged well, but most fakers do not know how to at the moment,
