This is an interesting set of documents, and it should not be difficult to determine the names of the officers in question, as this unit would likely not have had anywhere near the # of officers in its command group or administrative cadres as say a brigade of the present day US Army or US Marine Corps, or even of the Bundeswehr. The officer to enlisted ratio in the Reichswehr and the armed SS was quite small. The officer corps of the SS at arms in 1936 was also very small, to boot. Sapere aude.

very interesting comments on the background of this org. Donald, thank you. With some help from Phil Nix,i have discovered that in 1938 only four men held the rank of Sturmbannfuhrer in ss-vt deutschland, they were
1)Rudlieb Gorcke
2)Ernst Worner
3)Heinrich Ehrlich
4)Karl Praesche
that being said,in Sutterlin script which of these men comes closest to the signature. my guess would be no.1.However,does not the first letter seem to be an "h"?
also, where is it possible to buy the dal for the various years?
