    SS-Oberführer Heinz Manger?

    Hello all,

does anyone have a photo of SS-Oberführer Heinz Manger, who belonged to RSHA in 1944?

    Thanks
    Chris

He seems to have been just another of the thousands of faceless beurocrats that ran the IIIrd Reich. Apparantly one-time head of the SS-VT Nachrichten-Abteilung as SS-Sturmbannfuhrer,here's the info I could find on him :- http://www.geocities.com/~orion47/SS...Oberf_I-P.html

    Sorry no picture though. Ian.

Thanks Ian! I also had the basic info from that site, though his appointment to the SS-VT was new to me. Anyone got an idea what became of him?

        Heinz Manger's Dagger

I realize that this is a very old thread, but I thought that the collecting community might be interested to know that Heinz Manger's dagger was recently identified. It surfaced years ago and lay "dormant" in a private collection without proper recognition. I recently acquired it and made the ID of the SS number on the cross-guard.

            SS-Standartenfuhrer a. D.

Heinz Manger held a colonel's rank in the Waffen-SS. In the picture below, he can be seen on the left.

                      Heinz Manger

For whatever it's worth, here is one of several images of Heinz Manger taken from his micro-filmed SS personnel file at the National Archives in College Park. Of particular interest is the signal blitz on his right collar tab.
