This "named" SS arty visor on eBay..I've seen a few of these "named" visors--any idea who's making them?

Check his feed back he has dealt with military action, who has dealt with Germn-militaria, who has shown up in many threads on this forum. Coincidence, or hidden agenda?

I believe that would qualify as a non hidden agenda.

How do people get away with calling this stuff ORIGINAL? And a story to go with it too... picked up at a yard sale with the vet's knife, etc. Look at the red piping around the crown... doesn't even look like its an integral part of the cap but just sewn onto the outside! And the obvious insignia. Why doesn't this seller just try and sell it to a reenactor?

                  Baltic stinker

The wish is father to the dream....in the case at hand, however, this cap is plainly fake. These Baltic stinkers are produced by clever hands and minds, who appear to re-create officer biographies in wool and little snippets of paper. They do seem to have gotten hold of a contemporary German typewriter, but that is not so difficult to do. There is also too much ink on the ribbon for wartime. Sapere aude!

                    eBay, oh eBay

eBay is great, but I have to say, after I stopped laughing at the story (at least the seller didn't claim to find the visor in a barn in Normandy...) and the pics, I can't help but feel bad that this guy will likely get someone's good money for this obvious fake and yet, eBay will still selectively pick on the honest collector...

Chicken-like Ho'zeichen is almost comical - one would think, with all the effort that went into the interior, that the perp would at least have slapped on a correct eagle, copy or otherwise.

Herein is contained an important point. Inquiring and disciplined minds will check such details in the Wilkins book and reflect carefully on the clue here. This is a detail to which, over the decades, I never paid the slightest attention until recently; but colleague Wilkins has done us all a signal service with his research. And, I am fairly certain that the fiends and malefactors who watch us silently here are powerless to avail themselves of a remedy. Oh, das wirst Du nie wissen.....!
