    Ss Visor - Opinions Please!!

Hi there, I'm after opinions on this visor.

Sorry, there is only one picture available at the moment.

What are your 'first impression' opinions please??

I can try and get more photos.

I'm after one of these but I've been burnt enough by fakes already!!

          Vergleichstest

Colleague Ingram of No. Carolina posted a Clemens Wagner cap of 1938 vintage a while back, which I later had a chance to examine. You can use it as a bench mark in your evaluations. The image above does not immediately scream fake, but one has to proceed with care with these pieces. There are some well done fakes versus the majority of really dorky fakes. Authentic pieces are quite rare, that is much more rare than the enlisted caps. Viel Sammlerglueck.

Indeed it looks attractive as shown, but even a cursory conclusion would require underside views.

First impression: Why doesn't the visor match up (centered) with the top of the cap, looks a little skewed to me... could be the picture... difficult to tell from just the one picture.

From what I can see, it looks good. On fake visor caps, most give aways are found on the inside though.

Without the cap's interior, our speculation is highly incomplete. I once more direct attention to the Ingram piece of recent discussion.

I'm sure I've seen this visor before and I've got the photos on file. For the life of me though, I can't remember who offered it to me ...

                              aber nein!

The full material above speaks against this cap. I have seen many RZM tags in my time, but this one look as if it were wrongly afixed to the brake-shoes of a Pullmanwaggon on the Berlin-Hamburg flyer.
